It happens when the state is aggressively against your rights.
It’s like the best work-friends happen at the shittiest jobs. I used to work at this shit-show of an engineering company whose politics felt like going back to high school. The most horrendous hiring practices (nepotism and looks would get you places), Owner, CEO and COO high on cocaine before customer meetings (and even all-hands meetings- not many CEOs I know jump on desks to scream “I LOVE MY [insert ethnic group]”), and just the most outrageous lack of care from management about setting right processes and practices. Some of the people I love like siblings, I met at that place; and our friendship grew out of timing breaks to process together what was happening internally. We all left when it was polite career-wise to do so, within 2 months of each other and even though we all live in different places we have god-fathered each others’ kids and keep in touch almost weekly.CAgunsin2optix

It happens when the state is aggressively against your rights.
