hey guys and welcome to auss reviews today I’m doing an accuracy test on the Winchester 40 grain Full Metal Jacket 22 magnum ammunition now this is it how it comes in the Box here it’s advertised at 1910 ft a second so I’ll bring the round closer up to the camera hopefully we’ll get a focus on that one so you know why would you use a Full Metal Jacket well here on the farm guys I use full metal jacket for dropping steers when I’m doing home butchering It’s very effective out of the 22 magnum because obviously get a deep enough penetration with it over you know just your standard jacketed hollow points so the rifles we’re going to test the ammo through today are going to be the Ruger American and the CZ 457 my Ruger American has an 18in Barrel we’ve got a loop hold VX Freedom Rimfire 2 to7 by 33 optic on top and it’s fitted with a timney trigger my CZ 457 pretty much the same however it’s got a 20-in barrel the scope is exactly the same so a VX Freedom rim 2 to7 by 33 and we’ve also got a timy trigger in that as well okay so I’ve got a Target out at 50 and at 100 guys so we’re going to shoot the Winchester ammo at both of those distances we’ll start off with the Ruger I’m going to fire two five round groups at 50 and then obviously I’ll do two five round groups at 100 with both the Ruger and also the CZ and just see how the ammunition performs in both of the rifles do that’s okay so let’s have a look at 50 with the Winchester now I can confidently say both rifles seem to shoot the ammunition okay don’t they so let’s have a look at the Ruger to start with we’ve got about 8 of an inch for five shots then the second group with the Ruger pretty much identical there8 of an inch then we come down to the CZ now the first group there I think we’re going to be pretty much maybe a little bit trimmer than the Ruger point8 of an inch then the second group with the CZ we managed to come down a little bit more there to 6 of an inch so overall fairly consistent isn’t it so let’s take it out to 100 now and see how it performs in both of the rifles I okay so looking at the Winchester here at 100 we’ll start off with their first group for the Ruger blown out to about 2 and 1/2 in there then onto the next group little bit better there down to about 1.8 in then down to the C Zed bit more consistency there so we’re going to come in at about 1.3 in for the first group and then pretty much the same for the second group 1.3 in okay guys I wrap up my final thoughts on the Winchester 40 grain full metal jacket in 22 magnum some pretty consistent results there with both the Ruger and the CZ so I’d be very interested to hear what your thoughts are if you’ve use this ammunition in your Rimfire 22 magnum so yeah let us know in the comments below I’m really interested to start getting a bit of feedback from you guys as well also too guys um you know Full Metal Jacket has a very specific purpose doesn’t it um as I said you know my main purpose here for it is dropping steers when we’re doing uh home butchering so you know it’s very effective for that um some people may not find it effective as a hunting round it just depends on what you’re shooting where that shot placement is because a Full Metal Jacket can just pass straight through game without that expansion of a jacket at hollow point so keep that in mind if you are looking at this ammunition so guys I’ll um finish it at that just please check your subscription to me on YouTube because YouTube continually takes subscribers away from me every month without your permission please check your subscription to me make sure you enable that Bell icon so you can get all the updates in the future all right guys we’ll leave it at that catch you on the next review
