Winchester – 7.62×51 – 149 Grain FMJ M80 – 500 Rounds

Did you hop on the internet in search of 308 Win ammo? Don’t be led astray by such totally different numbers! 7.62×51 ammo is perfectly compatible with rifles chambered for 308. It’s loaded to generate a slightly lower chamber pressure, but it’s still going to cycle a semi-auto and treat any other type of rifle just as nicely.

This is Winchester’s own M80 ammo, the military’s go-to stuff for range and sniper training. Its bullet is actually a couple grains heavier than the standard 147 grains, but with its muzzle velocity of 2,790 fps you won’t experience any discernible difference in ballistic performance.

The M80 bullet is a true full metal jacket, with a lead core and concentric copper alloy jacket that aren’t fashioned to expand inside game. There are hundreds of better options available for hunting. There are better 7.62×51 rounds for personal protection as well, but please don’t rule this ammo out for home defense. It’s 7.62×51 – it really doesn’t do human-sized threats any favors.

This isn’t old military surplus. It’s non-corrosive new production ammo, gentle on a rifle’s chamber and bore before it becomes reloadable.

Please be sure that this isn’t the 7.62x39 ammo you’d want for an AK-47.
